[BUMP WORTHY]

Website of the week has to be BumpWorthy.com. Like im sure many of you have, so many nights I lay awake, insomnia ridden watching Adult Swim. (the only network worth watching past midnight).. and as brilliant as the beats may be, there is nothing more annoying than the barely legible typeface they use as their commercial text. ANYWAY, the Website provides clips of the bumps, artists, track titles, and options to download. At just a few seconds a piece, this website features almost 2000 different bumps. great.

HOLY WATCHES BATMAN!

Oh Bernie. Bernie, Bernie, Bernie.
As it turns out, Mr. Bernie Madoff spent more than a few of "his" bones on a number beautiful, beautiful time pieces during his years of billionaire privilege. Last November, after the ponzi schemester was finally brought to justice, his collection of more than 40 watches, including 17 Rolexes and several Audemars Piguets, Franck Mullers and Jaeger-LeCoultres, were be auctioned off. I don’t know how much they went for, but these watches are what my time-piece dreams are made of… a functional accessory is worth every penny.

TWILIGHT VISIONS

(due to my impending trip to nyc at the end of april, I feel as though many of my posts will begin to coincide with people, happenings, & events in that general area. This show looks beautiful.)

Twilight Visions: Surrealism, Photography, and Paris.

Showing January 29th – May 9th at the International Center of Photography

"Paris was a city of fantasy and chance encounters for Surrealist artists of the 1920s and '30s. During this period of unprecedented social and cultural transformation, photography played a dramatic new role in both avant-garde practice and mass culture. In their works, photographers such as Jacques-André Boiffard, Brassaï, Ilse Bing, André Kertész, Germaine Krull, Dora Maar, and Man Ray used fragmentation, montage, unusual viewpoints, and various technical manipulations to expose the disjunctive and uncanny aspects of modern urban life. In Twilight Visions: Surrealism, Photography, and Paris, guest curator Terry Lichtenstein has assembled over 150 photographs, films, books, periodicals, and Surrealist ephemera to show how real and imaginary versions of Paris were constructed through photographic images." –ICP

..the fairest of them all.

Chan Marshall is hands down the prettiest of all the indie, blues, southern, melodic women. Power to you lady, power.

socks with sandals, way rad. (if done right)

I know this is old news, but socks with sandals have always been considered nagl. As children of the northwest we have been parodied and mocked because our forefathers chose to rock the wools with the Tevas. ( the look, I admit, holds a warm place in my heart due to countless seasons of lake washington youth soccer ..all the dads loved the look) HOWEVER, if we ladies do it right, a nice clean pair of socks coupled with some beautiful heals or sandals makes for a great look. Furthermore, think of all the monies we'll save from all those pedicure appointments we can miss!

GUNPOWDER

Contemporary Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang was recently featured on FECAL FACE and his work is absolutely amazing. He uses things he collects in nature like sticks, moss and rocks to create the coloring effect after the gunpowder is lit. refreshing originality i think

i dont know how else to put it so i guess ill just say it...this man has created a lot of cool shit over the past twenty-some years. his website features a great chronology of his shown work. i do however enjoy his work with fire the best.

JLG five year anniversary group exhibition

personally i have been devoted to New York's Jonathan Levine Gallery since 2005. It's both my homepage and my jumping off point for when in skip happily through the internet searching for newer and greater artists. WELL, Mr. Jonathan Levine and his arsenal of talented artists are currently hosting a five year anniversary group exhibition..which sadly will end a few weeks before glace and i grace New York with our presence, so i will just have to admire it through the windows of the interweb(but we will be able to catch Eric White, Nicola Verlato, Fulvio di Piazza and Date Farmers)

check out this video posted on their website of artist Doze Green at work. What a silly fella
